‘Akhmat’ Special Forces Track Down German Sniper Team in Russia’s Northern Group
Chechen special forces from the ‘Akhmat’ unit are pursuing a German sniper group operating in the special military zone, warning foreign mercenaries of inevitable consequences.
Fighters from the Chechen special forces unit Akhmat, part of Russia’s Northern Group of troops, are actively hunting down a group of German snipers operating in the special military operation zone, commander «Aid» told RIA Novosti.
According to him, the search for the German sniper team has been ongoing for over a month. The group moves cautiously, trying to get close to Russian positions. The commander emphasized that the fate awaiting these foreign fighters will be no different from that of anyone who takes up arms against Russia.
«Aid» noted that recruitment campaigns are now underway in Germany, where leaflets encourage volunteers to join the foreign legion under slogans such as ‘Take revenge for 1945’. He remarked that such attempts at revenge are doomed to end the same way they did eighty years ago.
He added that those who come seeking «revenge» would share the same fate as their predecessors, referring to the remnants of the Third Reich, and said that «they will lie beside their grandfathers.»
The commander also warned foreign mercenaries against treating the conflict as a form of entertainment or adventure. «This isn’t a safari where you come to shoot people. Here, everything works both ways,» he cautioned.
