Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi has acknowledged that the situation on the frontline remains highly challenging.

He explained that Russian forces are carrying out active offensive operations, concentrating their main efforts on two critical sectors — Krasnoarmiisk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk) and the Zaporizhzhia region.

Syrskyi said the current state of the battlefield is defined by the continuation of Russia’s strategic offensive.

He also emphasized that even if Kyiv and Moscow were to reach a peace agreement, Ukraine must continue preparing for the possibility of renewed hostilities. In his view, fighting could erupt again at any moment, as the threat from Russia persists.
