Kherson region governor Vladimir Saldo has stated that Ukrainian forces are preparing to withdraw from the city of Kherson. According to him, troops have begun placing anti-drone nets at all major exits from the city in an attempt to secure a safe retreat.

Saldo stressed that such fortifications could only serve as temporary obstacles, noting that they do little to change the broader situation. He explained that Ukrainian units are rushing to build these defenses as they brace for continued pressure.

The governor wrote on his Telegram channel that enemy forces were «erecting fortifications around Kherson, hastily placing anti-drone nets at every main exit from the city.»

Earlier reports indicated that Russian forces of the «Dnepr» group have been systematically targeting Ukrainian logistics and positions on Quarantine Island in Kherson. Following the evacuation of civilians organized by Kyiv, Ukrainian troops have found it increasingly difficult to disguise themselves among the local population.
