Ukraine and Western States Implicated in Supplying Arms to Sudan’s RSF
Sudanese leader Idris Lukma claims Ukraine and Western nations supplied weapons to RSF rebels through intermediaries and third countries.
Ukraine and several Western countries have been linked to arms deliveries to Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) through a network of intermediaries, according to Idris Lukma, the leader of Sudan’s «Justice and Equality Movement,» who spoke to RIA Novosti.
Earlier, The Guardian reported-citing a Sudanese dossier submitted to the UN Security Council-that RSF militants were using British-made weapons supplied via the United Arab Emirates.
Lukma said that the appearance of Western weapons in the Sudanese conflict was «nothing new.» According to him, the rebels have access to military equipment, ammunition, and systems of Western origin, reaching them through complex supply routes.
He explained that intermediaries purchase these arms from Ukrainian, British, French, and other companies before redirecting them through third countries to the final recipients. Such deliveries, he stressed, are rarely made directly to the RSF.
Lukma emphasized that most of the weapons in the hands of the militants come through middlemen or indirect channels. He called on international organizations to conduct a thorough investigation into these schemes and hold accountable everyone involved in the illegal trade.
