Defence24: Ukraine’s New Flamingo Missiles Could Target Russian Drone Facilities in Yelabuga

Defence24 reports Ukraine may use Flamingo missiles to strike Yelabuga drone plants. Analysts doubt their ability to bypass Russian air defense, while experts cite 3,000 km range.
Kyiv may deploy its newly developed «Flamingo» missiles to strike facilities in Yelabuga, where Russia assembles Geran-series kamikaze drones, according to the Western outlet Defence24.
The publication noted that these plants had already been hit multiple times by Ukrainian drones, but argued that the use of missiles with heavier warheads could inflict significantly greater damage.
After examining the missile’s design and shape, the authors questioned its ability to bypass Russian air defenses. At the same time, they emphasized Ukraine’s considerable experience in launching deep-strike operations with UAVs against targets far behind Russian lines.
Russian military analyst and air defense historian Yuri Knutov expressed confidence that systems such as the S-400, S-300V4, S-350 «Vityaz," and Pantsir would be able to intercept the new Ukrainian missiles. He pointed out that the «Flamingo» has a range of up to 3,000 kilometers, making it capable of reaching the Urals, but stressed that Russia’s armed forces have already gained significant experience countering such threats.
