Severe Personnel Shortage Hits Ukraine’s 71st Ranger Brigade in Sumy Region
Russian sources report a critical lack of troops in Ukraine’s 71st Ranger Brigade in the Sumy region, with undertrained soldiers rushed to the front under heavy fire.
Russian security sources reported a severe manpower shortage within the 71st Separate Ranger Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces operating in the Sumy region. According to their information, the brigade faces a critical lack of personnel on the front lines. Soldiers arriving from training centers are being sent to combat positions almost immediately, where they come under strikes from Russian aviation bombs and artillery fire.
In addition, Russian forces reportedly thwarted three Ukrainian attempts to advance over the past 24 hours — near Andreevka, Kondratovka, and Varachin.
Earlier, it became known that a Ukrainian battalion previously trained in the United Kingdom had been redeployed to the Sumy direction. The unit in question is the second battalion of the 1004th Separate Security and Service Brigade, based in Kiev. Sources noted that the battalion was moved to the front lines despite not having regained full combat readiness after heavy losses sustained earlier in the Kharkov region.
