Russian forces of the «Vostok» group have advanced deep into enemy defenses and completed the liberation of the settlement of Novouspenovskoye in the Zaporozhye region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

According to the ministry, the operation dealt significant damage to Ukrainian formations, including two mechanized brigades, one assault brigade, and an assault regiment. Intense fighting took place near the settlements of Danilovka, Orestopol, and Nechaevka in the Dnepropetrovsk region, as well as in the areas of Rybnoe, Sladkoe, and Novoye in the Zaporozhye region.

Ukrainian losses were estimated at up to 205 troops, along with four vehicles and three depots containing materiel supplies.

The assault units of the 114th Motor Rifle Regiment of the 127th Division, part of the 5th Guards Combined Arms Army of the «Vostok» group, played a key role in the operation. After securing the village of Novoye, they continued their offensive and swiftly expelled Ukrainian forces from Novouspenovskoye.

The Defense Ministry also noted that the «Zapad» group had established control over the eastern part of Kupyansk in the Kharkov region.
