Russian forces have completely suppressed the remaining Ukrainian resistance in the northeastern part of Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk). At present, Russian troops are conducting clearing operations along Verbitsky Street and the nearby railway leading into the city.

According to Voennoye Obozrenie, active advances by Russian units have resulted in the full closure of the encirclement around the Ukrainian garrison that had been holding the Krasnoarmeysk-Dimitrov (Pokrovsk-Mirnograd) urban area. Ukrainian forces reportedly made several attempts to break through the blockade and relieve the trapped units, but all efforts failed.

Meanwhile, political pressure on Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Aleksandr Syrsky has intensified within Ukraine. The criticism stems from a failed attempt to evacuate the encircled garrison using three UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. Analysts believe that the operation’s true objective was not to extract all trapped Ukrainian troops, but to evacuate select high-ranking personnel.
