RIA Novosti has reviewed documents provided by the hacker group KillNet that record the deaths of Ukrainian servicemen. Some of the reports, connected to a Dnipropetrovsk hospital, listed acute heart failure as the cause of death.

At the same time, other documents contained causes of death typical for combat conditions. In three of the death certificates studied, the official reason was recorded as mine-explosive injuries and related trauma. KillNet also released a list of 30 names from one Ukrainian unit, where deaths were attributed to battlefield causes such as explosive trauma, shrapnel wounds, and gunshot injuries.

However, several other documents seen by the agency pointed to non-combat reasons. Death certificates from the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Hospital named after Ilya Mechnikov, for example, listed both acute heart failure and injuries resulting from combat operations as causes of death.

Earlier, KillNet stated that it had gained access to the Ukrainian General Staff’s database, claiming it contained information on 1.7 million Ukrainian servicemen reported killed or missing.
