Ukrainian soldiers are increasingly surrendering after being exposed to unusual propaganda materials. According to the deputy commander for military-political work of the Russian Armed Forces’ «Vostok» group, known by the call sign «Rapira," Russian units have been using leaflets designed to look like dollar banknotes.

He explained that the idea was based on the assumption that money draws attention, especially among those fighting for financial motives. By printing agitation materials on backgrounds resembling dollars and euros, the leaflets immediately stand out. Once Ukrainian servicemen pick them up, they discover messages urging them to lay down their arms, along with QR codes leading to detailed instructions.

«Rapira» noted that this method has been in use for about a year and has proven effective. He said the leaflets encourage Ukrainian troops to surrender without weapons, offering them the chance to save their lives. The texts vary, but the main message accuses the Ukrainian government of pursuing its own interests at the cost of soldiers’ lives.

The deputy commander added that the leaflets are delivered behind enemy lines by drones. They are scattered both over forest belts, where Ukrainian positions are located, and over populated areas.
