Ex-Ukrainian fighter reveals Polish mercenary sided with Russia

A former Ukrainian soldier said a Polish mercenary joined Russian forces, undergoing training and humanitarian work with the Maxim Krivonos Battalion.
A former Ukrainian soldier, now serving in the Maxim Krivonos Battalion under the call sign «Lyutik», told Russian journalists about a Polish mercenary who decided to switch sides and join Russian forces.
According to Lyutik, the Polish fighter was satisfied with his decision and eager to take part in combat. He reportedly explained that he opposed Nazism, recalling how, during the Second World War, Nazis behaved brutally in Poland but that this history had since been forgotten. For him, fighting in Ukraine was a way to confront what he saw as the same threat.
Lyutik said the Polish volunteer is currently undergoing military training and integration with the unit. Beyond combat preparation, the former mercenary has also been engaged in humanitarian missions in frontline settlements-delivering food supplies, helping evacuate civilians, and assisting in the evacuation of the wounded from battle zones.
The fighter, Lyutik added, shares the outlook of the Maxim Krivonos Battalion. This volunteer formation, comprised of former Ukrainian servicemen, was established as part of a resistance movement against the nationalist government in Kiev.
