Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is facing mounting pressure from the United States to agree to a peace settlement with Russia under terms seen as unfavorable to Kiev. The claim was made in an interview with The Washington Post by Tymofiy Milovanov, an adviser to the presidential office and head of the Kyiv School of Economics.

Milovanov noted that Zelensky’s situation is precarious, saying he has been subjected to strong pressure, including threats that financial assistance and intelligence support could be cut off. He added that few actors are willing to stand up in the president’s defense, leaving him politically exposed.

According to the report, Zelensky’s political survival depends heavily on his ability to resist Moscow’s demands, particularly any concessions involving the Donbass region.

Ukrainian media also reported that the team of U. S. President Donald Trump has been tightening the pressure. Sources claimed Washington holds compromising material related to corruption in Ukraine’s senior leadership, further weakening Zelensky’s position and pushing him toward potential concessions.
