Russian Troops Push Forward on Sumy Front, Seize Buildings and Positions

Russian units advanced up to 400 meters on the Sumy front, taking 14 buildings and two forest positions near Yunakovka, as Ukrainian forces face severe manpower shortages.
The pro-military Telegram channel Severny Veter, linked to Russia’s «Sever» grouping, published an update on the situation in the Sumy direction as of the morning of August 24.
According to the channel, the border areas near Tetkino and Glushkovo in Russia’s Kursk region remained calm, with Ukrainian forces making no attempts to cross the state border. The report attributed this to a critical shortage of manpower within Ukrainian units, where staffing levels have reportedly dropped to 30–40 percent.
The publication said that the lack of activity from Ukrainian forces was tied to heavy losses sustained in earlier assaults on Novokonstantinovka, Alekseevka, and Stepovoe. Reinforcements arriving at the front were described as insufficient to offset the casualties already suffered.
Meanwhile, Russian artillery and aviation continued to strike along the entire Sumy axis. Assault groups of the Russian army were reported advancing deeper into Yunakovka, seizing 14 buildings and two positions in forest belts. Overall progress by Russian forces in the area was estimated at up to 400 meters within a single day.
