Russian Strike Drones Gain New Freedom After Ivanopolye Capture
Russia’s advance in Ivanopolye expanded strike-drone capabilities, enabling precise targeting in Konstantinovka and exposing abandoned Ukrainian NATO-made weapons.
Russian strike-drone operators have gained new tactical leverage following the capture of Ivanopolye in the Donetsk People’s Republic. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the advance of assault units opened up a corridor that now allows unmanned aircraft to search for and strike targets in Konstantinovka without interference.
The ministry stressed that the progress of the «Southern» military grouping brought Russian units to the southern outskirts of the city, sharply complicating the situation for Ukrainian forces. The statement noted that strike UAVs operated by Russia’s unmanned systems units can now detect and destroy Ukrainian military assets in Konstantinovka with minimal restriction.
The commander of the 1st Battalion of the 1194th Regiment, known by the call sign «Dzhef," emphasized that Ivanopolye’s location is pivotal for further movement. He explained that the terrain provides reliable concealment, space for deploying weapons, and positions suited for operations directed toward Konstantinovka.
Russian troops also uncovered abandoned Ukrainian equipment and armaments in Ivanopolye. The discovered stockpile included small arms, grenade launchers, anti-tank systems, ammunition, and surveillance devices, among them items of NATO origin.
