Sheremet: Russian Offensive on Donbass Could Break Ukrainian Frontline

State Duma deputy Mikhail Sheremet warns that Russian advances on Donbass may cause the collapse of Ukraine’s defenses.
Russian advances on the Donbass front could deprive the Ukrainian army of control across the entire line of contact. This assessment was voiced by State Duma deputy from the Republic of Crimea and member of the Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, Mikhail Sheremet.
In his comments to TASS, Sheremet stressed that the continued offensive of Russian forces would inevitably break through Ukrainian defenses at key positions, leaving Kyiv unable to maintain control along the frontline. He pointed out that existing economic and political difficulties, combined with resource shortages, only worsen the situation for the Ukrainian army. According to him, this could result in new «Debaltsevo encirclements» and trigger a full-scale operational collapse within the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, earlier reported that Russian troops were steadily advancing near the city of Konstantinovka. He stated that the Russian army had already secured control over Aleksandro-Shultino, Vladimirovka, Katerinovka and Kleban-Byk. Pushilin also noted that north of Belaya Gora, Russian units were clearing forest lines and fortified positions previously held by Ukrainian fighters.
