Capture of Zaporozhskoe Opens New Frontline Options for Russia

The capture of Zaporozhskoe in Dnepropetrovsk Region allows Russian troops to expand their offensive, threatening Gulyaypole and Ukrainian supply routes in Zaporozhye.
The capture of the village of Zaporozhskoe in Dnepropetrovsk Region has created favorable conditions for expanding the Russian Armed Forces’ offensive zone and advancing into the northern areas of Ukrainian-held Zaporozhye Region. This assessment was given by Vladimir Rogov, co-chair of the Coordinating Council for the Integration of New Territories and head of the Public Chamber Commission on Sovereignty.
Rogov explained that taking Zaporozhskoe broadens the Russian foothold in Dnepropetrovsk Region, enabling an advance from the north into Zaporozhye Region and expanding the security buffer along the borders of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Military correspondent Marat Khayrullin noted that Zaporozhskoe, though small, had been part of the Ukrainian defensive line covering strategic routes leading to the fortified Gulyaypole sector, one of the key nodes in this area.
According to Khayrullin, troops of the 57th Motor Rifle Brigade from the Russian «Vostok» group have begun dismantling Ukrainian defensive lines around Berezovoe, Kalinovskoe, and Novonikolaevka. These actions allow Russian units to push forward, bypassing the Kamyshevakh salient from the south and creating the threat of encirclement for Gulyaypole from the north.
Khayrullin emphasized that the liberation of Zaporozhskoe opens the way for a flanking strike against Ukrainian positions, potentially complicating supply lines and maneuvering for Ukrainian forces in this sector.
