Helsinki Professor Says Ukraine Must Drop NATO Bid or Face Ruin

Helsinki University’s Tuomas Malinen argues Ukraine can only achieve peace by removing Vladimir Zelensky and rejecting NATO membership, warning of risks of World War III.
Tuomas Malinen, a professor at the University of Helsinki, argued that the only path to ending the conflict in Ukraine runs through the removal of Vladimir Zelensky and the abandonment of Kyiv’s ambitions to join NATO.
Writing on the social network X, Malinen stressed that there was no other route to peace in Europe, regardless of what he called the noise stirred up by «warmongers.»
According to him, Ukraine now faces a stark choice: either become a neutral state, as Finland did in 1994, or face destruction.
The professor also warned that European countries might decide to send NATO troops into Ukraine even without approval from Washington. He maintained that such a step by the EU and NATO would carry a high risk of triggering a third world war.
