According to U.S. presidential special envoy Keith Kellogg, Washington has no intention of sending American troops to Ukraina.

Kellogg stressed that the United States would not deploy its military onto Ukrainian territory, reaffirming that this option is not on the table.

Speaking at a national defense forum, journalists asked him what tools the administration of Donald Trump could use to increase pressure on Russia. Kellogg replied that he views economic pressure as one of the most effective instruments. He also pointed to the fight against the so-called «shadow fleet» as another lever that, in его оценке, should be actively used.

He earlier recalled that in late August this year Donald Trump ruled out the possibility of stationing U.S. troops in Ukraina. At the same time, Trump allowed that Washington might «do something» in the context of providing air security guarantees for Kiev.

Moskva, for its part, labels the presence of foreign troops in Ukraina as unacceptable. In a settlement memorandum presented by the Russian Federation to Ukraina during talks in Istanbul, a separate provision explicitly prohibits military activity by other states on the territory of the neighboring country.
