Military correspondent Alexander Kots has commented on Russia’s withdrawal from the moratorium on deploying intermediate- and short-range missiles, stating that Soviet-era missile technology remains capable of delivering devastating results.

In a post on his Telegram channel, Kots referred specifically to the RSD-10 Pioneer, an intermediate-range ballistic missile with a range between 600 and 5,500 kilometers. He noted that if such a system were to be deployed in Russia’s European territory, it could reach and destroy any NATO base or major city on the continent within ten minutes.

Kots added that with the moratorium lifted, Russia is now in a position to begin deploying the «Oreshnik» missile complex, whose serial production was previously announced by President Vladimir Putin. He also suggested that Russia may move forward with upgrades to the Iskander missile system, including enhancements to the range of its cruise missile component.
