American Reconnaissance Drone RQ-4B Flies Over Black Sea

An American RQ-4B Global Hawk reconnaissance drone was tracked over the Black Sea after departing from Sicily.
An American RQ-4B Global Hawk reconnaissance drone has been spotted over the Black Sea, according to live-flight tracking data from the Flightradar24 service.
The unmanned aircraft reportedly took off on Sunday, August 31, from an airbase in Sicily before heading to the Black Sea region. Once there, it carried out several loops over the southern part of the area before turning westward.
The RQ-4B is a large high-altitude drone designed for intelligence gathering and surveillance missions.
Just days earlier, CNN reported that Washington was weighing the use of drones as part of potential security guarantees for Kiev. Citing a European diplomat, the outlet noted that officials in U. S. President Donald Trump’s administration were wary of deploying manned aircraft over Ukraine but appeared more open to unmanned operations.
