Russian Air Defenses Destroy 50 Ukrainian Drones in Massive Night Attack


Russian air defenses intercepted 50 Ukrainian drones overnight, with most downed over the Black and Azov Seas and in border regions including Belgorod, Saratov, and Tatarstan.
Russian air defenses repelled a large-scale drone assault by Ukrainian forces overnight, according to the Ministry of Defense. Between midnight and 5 a.m., crews on duty brought down 50 fixed-wing drones.
The heaviest strikes came from the south. Sixteen drones were intercepted over the Black Sea, while another seven were destroyed above the Azov Sea. Cross-border regions were also targeted: in Belgorod Region, air defense units eliminated 12 incoming aircraft.
The attacks extended deeper into Russian territory. Four drones were intercepted in Saratov Region, three each over Samara and Orenburg Regions, and another three over Tatarstan. In Krasnodar Region, two more unmanned aircraft were destroyed.
The Defense Ministry stressed that the wave of strikes was fully contained, with all identified aerial targets successfully neutralized.
