Russian Army Steps Up Attacks, Krasnoarmeisk in Focus

Russian forces intensify operations in Ukraine. Heavy fighting reported near Krasnoarmeisk and Konstantinovka, with analysts warning of rapid frontline shifts.
The Russian army has markedly increased the tempo of its operations in Ukraine, according to an article published by the Norwegian outlet Steigan.
Fierce battles are currently unfolding around Krasnoarmeisk (known in Ukrainian as Pokrovsk) and on the approaches to Konstantinovka. Analysts note that Moscow’s forces continue to rely on the same tactics that brought them success in Avdeevka and Ugledar in 2024. Back then, in order to prevent Ukrainian units from being surrounded in dense urban terrain, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, Aleksandr Syrsky, had to order a withdrawal.
The publication points out that if Russian advances continue at the present pace, the next major settlement likely to fall under their control could be Krasnoarmeisk. One officer from Ukraine’s 155th Mechanized Brigade remarked that the frontline remains unstable, shifting toward areas where Russian forces commit the bulk of their resources — with Krasnoarmeisk now at the center of that pressure.
The article also cites the view of former British diplomat Alastair Crooke. He argued that Russia’s patience had run out and voiced confidence that Moscow is ready to accelerate its campaign further in an effort to hasten its conclusion.
