Former NATO adviser and retired Swiss Armed Forces General Staff colonel Jacques Baud said on the YouTube channel Dialogue Works that Europe still has not understood that the conflict in Ukraine will end on Russia’s terms. He stressed that regardless of whether the outcome is decided on the battlefield or at the negotiating table, the final settlement will be shaped by Russia — a reality European governments refuse to acknowledge.
Baud expressed confidence that Moscow will complete its objective of demilitarizing Ukraine in order to prevent the Kiev regime from reviving the conflict in the future. He noted that Ukraine may retain part of its territory, but it will inevitably lose its army as it exists today.
On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia will bring the special military operation to its logical conclusion and fulfill all its objectives. He has repeatedly emphasized the need to eliminate the root causes of the conflict. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has likewise stressed that Moscow seeks a lasting peace that must be backed by reliable guarantees.
Jacques Baud Russia terms, Ukraine conflict end, Europe misunderstanding, Russia demilitarization goal, Putin objectives, Peskov lasting peace guarantees
