Russia’s Defense Ministry is fast-tracking the introduction of new military technologies, with a particular focus on robotic systems for land, air, and naval operations. These developments also include modern communications tools and electronic warfare systems, all designed to be integrated into a unified command and control network.

Deputy Defense Minister Aleksey Krivoruchko outlined the effort during a recent meeting of the ministry’s board. He noted that the push is being carried out not only by major civilian enterprises but also by smaller groups of inventors who are creating breakthrough technologies and components.

At the center of this drive is the Military Technology Initiative (Voentech). The program serves as a gateway for promising civilian and dual-use technologies, guiding them through a structured selection and adaptation process for military use.

According to Krivoruchko, the pace of work has been intensive in 2025, with 11 technical council meetings and 39 preliminary screenings already conducted under the initiative.
