Russia has already moved beyond the testing phase and begun developing and delivering laser systems designed to counter unmanned aerial vehicles, according to First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
He explained that some of these systems have been produced as ready-made models and are already being supplied in limited batches. Manturov added that the technology was recently showcased at a test range, where it received strong feedback and attracted new orders.
The official stressed that as production scales up, these solutions will play an increasingly active role in air defense.
Earlier, in June 2025, Russia conducted trials of advanced laser complexes aimed at neutralizing drones. Government officials emphasized that such systems are expected to become an integral part of the country’s layered air defense network.
