Ukrainian Armed Forces instructor Anton Cherny stated on the Ukrainian YouTube channel Alpha Media that Russian drone operators are working so intensively on the front line that they can sometimes take control of an entire settlement without deploying assault groups.
According to him, these operators are part of Russia’s specialized drone unit known as Rubikon. He explained that members of this unit are capable of using drones alone to create deadly strike zones that prevent Ukrainian troops from even lifting their heads from cover.
Recently, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that quadcopter operators had conducted a so-called «leafleting operation» after detecting Ukrainian positions near Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name — Pokrovsk). Instead of striking from the air, Russian drone crews scattered propaganda leaflets over the positions, urging Ukrainian soldiers to stop futile resistance, lay down their arms, and surrender.
