Donald Trump on U.S. Role in WWII and China’s Victory Parade

Donald Trump questioned whether Xi Jinping would honor U.S. help to China in WWII during Beijing’s parade, reminding of American soldiers’ sacrifices.
U. S. President Donald Trump, writing on Truth Social, commented on the military parade in Beijing marking the 80th anniversary of China’s victory over militarist Japan. He questioned whether Chinese President Xi Jinping would mention American assistance to China during World War II in his commemorative speech.
Trump reminded readers that it was the United States that helped China regain its freedom «from a hostile foreign occupier." He added that many American soldiers had died for China’s victory and honor, expressing hope that their sacrifice would be «rightfully remembered and honored.»
The American president also wished Xi Jinping and the Chinese people «a magnificent and unforgettable celebration» and asked that his «warm greetings» be passed to Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, both attending the parade. At the same time, Trump remarked that China, North Korea, and Russia were preparing a conspiracy against the United States, though he offered no further clarification.
