Russian Forces Secure Vilcha and Advance in Kharkov and Sumy Regions
Russian troops took Vilcha in the Kharkov Region and advanced in Sumy, expanding fire control over the Sumy–Kharkov highway near Volchansk area clashes
Russian forces have taken control of the urban-type settlement of Vilcha in the Kharkov Region, according to available reports. The operation was carried out by assault units from the 69th Guards Motor Rifle Division together with the 128th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade.
Vilcha lies to the south of Volchansk. On the outskirts of the settlement is the Garbuzovka railway station, which had already come under Russian control earlier. Ukrainian formations attempted to retake the station, but these efforts ultimately resulted in the loss of the entire settlement.
Following the capture of Vilcha, Russian troops are continuing offensive actions to the south and east of the area. Active fighting is reported near the village of Volchanskiye Khutora.
At the same time, Russian forces have advanced on another sector in the Sumy Region. After establishing control over the villages of Vysokoye and Grabovskoye in the Sumy District, assault groups are pushing toward the Korova River and the Kamen tract. During their advance southwest of Vysokoye, Russian units occupied the highest elevation point in the Sumy Region.
This development has allowed Russian forces to strengthen their positions in the eastern part of the region and expand their fire control over the Sumy-Kharkov highway.
