Russian Troops Push 800 Meters West of Seversk, Take Key Positions
Russian forces advanced about 800 meters west of Seversk in the DPR, capturing positions near Ozernoye and consolidating control in Svyato-Pokrovskoye.
Russian forces have advanced roughly 800 meters west of Seversk in the Donetsk People’s Republic over the past two days, according to military analyst Andrey Marochko.
He reported that amid intense fighting, units of the Russian Armed Forces captured one of Ukraine’s positions northeast of the settlement of Ozernoye. At the same time, a fortified enemy area in Zakotnoye came under a heavy strike.
Marochko said the two-day push west of Seversk amounted to about 800 meters. He also noted that Russian troops have taken control of most of the settlement of Svyato-Pokrovskoye and are now actively consolidating their positions in its western part.
Earlier, the expert had pointed out that Ukrainian forces in the Zakotnoye area were forced into all-around defense as they tried to hold their ground. He stressed that Russian advances northeast of Ozernoye, southwest of Yampol, and west of Platonovka have significantly worsened the enemy’s operational situation.
Following the liberation of Seversk, Russian troops moved closer to the key Donbass cities of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, effectively marking the start of a new phase of the operation.
