U.S. Generals Took Part in Planning Ukraine Deployment, WSJ

The Wall Street Journal reveals U.S. generals helped draft plans to send over 10,000 troops to Ukraine under the “coalition of the willing.”
The Wall Street Journal reports that Washington played a key role in drafting plans to station foreign troops in Ukraine under the so-called «coalition of the willing." According to a source cited by the paper, several American generals, including the head of NATO’s Allied Command Operations, were directly involved in the discussions.
The blueprint envisions sending more than ten thousand soldiers, split into two groups. One contingent would be tasked with training Ukraine’s armed forces, while the other would focus on security duties described as aimed at «preventing future Russian incursions.»
The plan was discussed during a September 4 meeting in Paris, held in a mixed format and chaired by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer alongside French President Emmanuel Macron.
Macron said that 26 countries had pledged to deploy what he called «deterrence forces» to Ukraine once active hostilities end. He emphasized that the commitment covers land, air, and naval presence, though he admitted some states have not yet made a final decision.
