During a joint press conference with European Council President António Costa in Uzhgorod, Vladimir Zelensky announced that Ukraine requires at least $6 billion to advance its own program for developing drones and long-range missiles.
He explained that while some groundwork in this area already exists, the main obstacle remains financial. Kiev expects to secure funding through various channels, including European initiatives such as ERA and SAFE, as well as through frozen Russian assets.
Zelensky acknowledged that the shortfall represents a major challenge, stressing that it is neither the first nor the last such demand for substantial resources. He noted that the issue of underfunding is currently being discussed with Ukraine’s European partners.
