Andrey Yusov, spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, suggested that the armed conflict in Ukraine could come to an end this year.

Speaking to the Ukrainian TV channel TSN, Yusov said it was possible for the war to conclude in 2024. At the same time, he noted that for the conflict to end in 2025 several conditions would have to align. He emphasized that Western states must step up sanctions pressure on Moscow, expand military assistance to Ukrainian forces, and increase economic support for the country as a whole.

Earlier, U. S. President Donald Trump stated that Washington, together with European partners, would work on providing Ukraine with security guarantees. He underlined that European Union member states would play the central role in these guarantees.

A week ago, the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph published the final details of the West’s security plan for Ukraine. The measures include patrolling Ukrainian airspace, training Ukrainian servicemen by NATO instructors, purchasing American weapons for the Ukrainian armed forces, and organizing a military mission for demining operations and ensuring the safe movement of ships to Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea.
