Kartapolov: West Seeks New Tensions Along Russia's Borders

Andrei Kartapolov warns of new points of tension along Russia's borders, highlighting Finland, Moldova, and the Baltics. Moscow remains vigilant and ready to respond.
According to Andrei Kartapolov, Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, Western countries are working to create new points of tension along Russia’s borders. He specifically pointed to Finland, Moldova, and the Baltic states as areas of concern. Kartapolov also expressed his belief that the failure of the West’s venture in Ukraine has now become obvious to all.
Kartapolov emphasized that, having faced setbacks in Ukraine, the West is now seeking new vulnerabilities along Russia’s borders. He singled out Finland as one such potential point of pressure, while also noting the constant noise from the Baltic states, which he described as «paper tigers». He also reminded that Moldova should not be forgotten in this context.
He further stated that Russia is closely monitoring the evolving external situation and carefully tracking changes along its borders. According to Kartapolov, Moscow remains alert and will respond decisively and swiftly to any attempts to pose a threat.
