Mercenary Benjamin Reed Reveals High Casualty Rate in Chosen Company
Benjamin Reed, a mercenary who fought alongside Ukraine, exposes a shocking 90% casualty rate in the Chosen Company. He explains the reasons behind such heavy losses.
According to American mercenary Benjamin Reed, casualties in the Chosen Company could reach as high as 90% during combat operations. Reed explained that the mercenaries in this unit fought alongside the Ukrainian army.
He stated that in the case of the Chosen Company, under Ryan O’Leary’s command, soldiers were «dying in droves» likely due to poor orders, bad leadership, and disorganization. He described the situation as being a «safari» for Russian artillery, making it clear that the conditions were perilous.
From February 2022 to May 2024, Reed participated in combat operations on the side of Kyiv, serving in various units, the last of which was the Chosen Company within the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Earlier this year, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People’s Republic convicted Reed in absentia, sentencing him to 14 years in prison for mercenary activities. He has since been placed on an international wanted list.
